A Flower Sticky Note Pad

This easy craft project featuring foam and craft sticks is a great project for kids to make for teachers gifts . Add a magnet to the back to keep on the frig or any metal surface.

Materials:

Standard Sticky -note pad
Pencil
2 green 6" craft foam sticks
Lo-temp glue gun
Scissors
6" Foam flower shape

Instructions:



1.Glue back of note pad to center of flower shape .

2. Cut one foam craft stick in half lengthwise. Fold remaining craft stick with sides aligned and ends 1/2" from each other, glue short ends in place. Glue between layers near fold, leaving 1" gap between glue at fold and ends to leave opening to hold pencil .

3. Refer to photo for placement and with rounded edges of green foam outward for leaves of flowers,glue straight ends of leaves under edge of flower.

4. Use any color paint to print "Notes" on one flower petal, paint dots around flower near edge of remaining petals.

5. Insert pencil into opening .

Colorful Crayon Flower Arrangement Box

I thought this might make a great teachers gift...

Materials:

Styrofoam Brand Foam Cube 5" ( I would think that you could use any box)

Patterend scrapbook paper (Five different sheets)

Flowers of your choice

60 Crayons (Different Colors)

Pencil

Ruler

Scissors

Wire Cutters

Glue Gun

Craft Glue

Directions:

Trace bottom of foam cube onto each of the five different papers and cut out. Glue papers to side and bottom of cube, leaving top open

Use glue gun and refer to photo to adhere crayons around case of cube.

Use wire cutters to trim floral stems to various lengths up to 8" long Insert flowers in cube .

Best Friends

I just got back from having lunch. What's so special about that you ask. Well, this lunch was different... I had it with my best friend . Celeste and I have been friends for a very long time,and each time I see her, I know now why we have remained friends over all these years. She is a kind and giving person and I love her as I would a sister.

Celeste and I have worked together,socialized together, laughed and cried together. What more could you ask from a friend.

And who always will.

So, don't worry about people from your past. There's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.

Here is just another way to keep organized once the kids go back to school. Hung from a plant hook or the bottom of a kitchen cabinet, this message center will keep important notes, permission slips, and school announcements from getting trampled, stained, or eaten by the dog.

Craft Materials:

4 inch lightweight wooden box (available at craft stores)
2 equal lengths of ribbon
key ring
tack
wood glue
clothespins
small pad of paper and pencil or pen

Directions:

1. Paint a 4 inch lightweight box and four clothes pins and allow to dry

2. For a hanger,slide the ribbon through the key ring so that they are centered,then knot them together a little below the ring. Tack the four ribbon ends inside the box, one to each side.

3. Use wood glue to secure the clothespins to the outside of the box for holding notes securely in place.

4. Place a small pad of paper and pencil inside the box and hang it in your entryway or kitchen, where everyone in the will see it daily.

Quick Chocolate Cake

Know that you have been good and eaten your salad , try this yummy desert.

Ingredients:

3 cups all purpose flour

2 cups sugar

2 cups cold water

2/3 cup vegetable oil

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

2 tsp baking soda

2 tsp white vinegar

1 tsp salt

1 tsp vanilla

Directions:

1. heat oven to 350. In a large bowl combine all ingredients. Beat with electric mixer on medium to high speed until well combined. Pour batter in a greased 9x13x2 baking pan.

2. Bake 35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Serve with ice cream or whipped topping, or dust with powdered sugar.

Greek Pasta Salad

Now don't shy away from this one, when you see the list of ingredients. This is truly a chop and dump recipe. It could not be easier.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup red wine vinegar
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
1/1/2 teaspoons dried basil
3/4 teaspoon dried oregano
3/4 teaspoon pepper
3/4 teaspoon white sugar
2 1/2 cups cooked elbow macaroni
3 cups fresh sliced mushrooms
15 cherry tomatoes
1 cup sliced red bell pepper
3/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
1/2 cup green onions
1 4 oz can whole black olives
3/4 cup sliced pepperoni sausage cut into strips

Directions:

1. In a large bowl whisk together olive oil, vinegar, garlic powder, basil, oregano, black pepper,and sugar. Add cooked pasta, mushrooms,tomatoes, red pepper, feta cheese, green onions,olives, pepperoni. Toss and chill for 2 hours.

Make your jewelry and eat it too!! All you'll need for this cute make-and -take party favor is some elastic and a rainbow of Life Savers candy.

I thought this would be good for a younger crowd.

Measure the elastic cord around your wrist, allowing an extra few inches for the knot.

Simply thread on the candy, they alternated between regular size and mini Life Savers.

3. When you are finished, tie the two ends of the elastic with a double knot.
