Chocolate Sauced Dessert Kabobs

Oh My !! These look good.


3/4 cup semisweet chocolate pieces
1/4 cup butter
2/3 cup sugar
1 5 oz can evaporated milk
2 medium ripe nectarines
1/2 of a fresh or frozen pound cake
2 ripe bananas
6 whole strawberries stemmed


For Sauce... Melt chocolate and butter in a small pan on low heat. Gradually stir in milk. Bring to boil, reduce heat cook and stir for 8 minutes. Set aside.

Remove pits from nectarines or peaches cut fruit into wedges. Cut pound cake into 1 inch pieces and bananas. Alternately thread the peaches or nectarines, cake and bananas on 12 inch long skewers. Add one strawberry to each skewer.

Grill kabobs about 5 minutes or until cake is toasted, turning once.

To serve, push fruit and cake off skewers and drizzle with the warm chocolate sauce.

That will complete your Labor Day Barbecue.
